I think a truly amazing salad is one that needs no dressing. Any salad can taste good with a lot of dressing, but a salad that tastes good sans dressing is rare to come by. Luckily, I have stumbled upon such a gem.
The key to this salad are the sliced apples, so if you are going to skimp out on any topping, do not do so with the apples. I like to have a piece of apple with almost every bite. This salad is perfect for lunch or dinner. If you add pieces of grilled chicken, it can even become a meal! Personally, I eat this salad for lunch and dinner (it’s a go-to for a reason, right?) before I consume anything else. It really helps prevent overeating. Also I like to rotate between using sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and walnuts in this salad, so choose whichever you like best!
- Bowl of mixed greens
- 1 apple
- 1 tablespoon dried cranberries
- 1 tablespoon feta cheese
- 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds (or pumpkin seeds or walnuts)
- Cut the apple into slices.
- Mix the ingredients, and enjoy!
