Whether you are craving something sweet, salty, or nutty, you are sure to find something you love in my list of go-to snacks! While whole fruits, veggies, and nuts are all excellent healthy choices for snacks, the recommendations below focus on packaged snacks.
Alive & Radiant kale chips are amazing! They come in an assortment of flavors to satisfy a variety of cravings. I have tried the Quite Cheezy, the Cheezy Chipotle, the Chockalet Chip, the Hibiscus & Pink Peppercorn, and the Cheezy Chipotle, and I loved them all. The Quite Cheezy is perfect for any cheesy craving you might have, and it is much healthier (and tastier, in my opinion) than a bag of Doritos or Cheez-Its. Craving something spicy? Try the Cheezy Chipotle Kale Krunch! It is full of flavor and spice. The Chockalet Chip should satisfy a chocolate craving, while the Hibiscus & Pink Peppercorn is ideal for when you want a snack on the plainer side. Next time I go to a movie theater, I am definitely sneaking in a bag of these to snack on instead of popcorn. These chips are perfect for daily consumption, though they are on the pricier side. Buy them here.
Whenever I crave something light on the sweeter side, I reach for a bag of these Fuji Apple Fruit Crisps. They are only 40 calories a bag and so delicious! This company also offers other fruits in freeze-dried form if apples are not your thing, but the Fuji Apple Crisps are my personal favorite. Buy them here.
If you’re craving something fruity that is a little more filling than freeze-dried apple chips, I recommend the fruit & seeds trail mix bar from The Good Bean. This bar is one of the the three fruit & no-nut bars they offer, and it is my favorite of the three. These bars contain chickpeas, which I love. Some reviewers have complained about its somewhat chalky texture from the chickpeas, but I personally really like that. Buy them here.
When you want something nutty, try the nut bar from Two Moms in the Raw. You can read my review of the bars here. I recently tried the goldenberry bar, and did not like it as much as the blueberry or gojiberry bars. Thus, I recommend to you the latter! Buy them here.
When your chocolate craving calls for chocolate in its purest form, I highly recommend Valrhona’s 85% chocolate bar. Though this should be more of an occasional indulgence than a daily snack, sometimes you just need a piece of chocolate. All you need to do is break off a tiny piece and let it melt in your mouth. Not only will you be satisfied, it is unlikely you will reach for another piece because it is somewhat bitter (though still heavenly). If 85% is too much for you, reach for the 71% bar! The 71% bar is delicious as well, though no promises that you will not want more than just a small piece. I buy these at Trader Joe’s, but you can also purchase them online here. If you do try to buy them at Trader Joe’s, note that the packaging looks slightly different than what is pictured above.
I hope you enjoy these snacks as much as I do!
